Art And Soul

I am happy to announce that I'll be teaching at Art and Soul in Portland Oregon this year. I'll be teaching two different classes both of which feature copic markers.

The first is titled Coptic/Copic; I'll teach how to bind a coptic journal and then we'll use it for art journaling. I'll be teaching some unique copic mixed-media techniques that I've developed over the last year. I'm proud to say that since these techniques are my own unique creations, I'm the only one who knows how to do them! Some of the techniques include bleach masking photographs and colorizing images before transferring them.

Here are a couple of photographs from the class, the first is the journal itself:

These two are pages that have some of the techniques I'll be teaching including advanced stencil work and colorized transfers.

I'll be providing the markers for this class and the kit fee includes a copic multiliner which you get to keep!

If you're interested in the class, you can get information on the dates, times and registration here.

The other class I'm teaching is titled Beeswax Bibliosemblage. In this class we'll work with beeswax and copic markers. I'll be teaching about marbelizing beeswax as well as some basics of book construction. An assemblage will be built into the back of the book and a telescopic hole cut through the beeswaxed pages. Here are some photos of the project:

If you're interested in the class you can get information on the dates, times and registration here.
Hopefully I'll see some of you at Art and Soul this fall!
