DYI funky numbers decorative masking tape.

I want to share a another little tape tutorial today. In case you haven't figured out from my post on Faux-Washi Tape and my DYI decorative tape post, I have a thing for tape. My other obsession is old office equipment. I have a gorgeous fire-engine-red type writer from the 1950's that I use constantly for text in my art work. A few months back I was given a vintage adding machine! I decided to convert some of my plain old masking tape into something fab using my adding machine. Here's what you'll need:

Masking tape, wax or parchment paper or something else non-stick, and adding machine (these can be found cheap at goodwill pretty easily):

First step, pull out a length of masking tape and then stick to your non-stick surface. You'll want to trim it down so that there isn't any hang-over that could clog up your machine. Most likely, your tape won't be as wide as the paper needed for the machine; that's ok. Here's mine all ready to go:
You'll want to feed it into the machine. Remember you need to start it with the tape side down, because of the way it wraps around the feeder mechanism. Advance it up, making sure it doesn't get caught on the feeding slot on the lid:
They type away on your machine. When you've run out of tape, you're ready to go!
Now you can get really fancy and color your tape before feeding it through. Just bear in mind that the color it prints out is not super dark, so you don't want to over darken the tape.

And here is a close-up of the masking tape in my journal:

That's it for me today. Hope everyone is having a safe and happy weekend. I've got a couple of photos of journal pages I'm going to try and get it up in the next couple of days.
