I've been working on a Christmas journal and when I sat down to play with the stencil the first thought that popped into my head was "Christmas Tree!"
I took some masking tape and masked off the area that I wanted to use:
I'm working on a vintage perscription that I bought here.
Then using a palate knife I spread a thin layer of glue onto the stencil.
Once that was done I sprinkled it with some German glass glitter (which can be found here.) Using a spoon to press the glitter into the glue.
When I was all done spreading the glue I lifted it straight off and let it dry.
I added a collage image by Debrina Pratt on the tag, added a star and cut out little presents and added some German foil.
Sorry about the reflections--I tried scanning it but it was even worse! That's the price I pay for using glitter I suppose.
Now that you've seen my work, you can go check out the other artists that are participating:

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I love how you used the stencil but my question is, how did you get the glue and glitter off the stencil? Is there a trick or did you do it the old fashioned way, of picking it all off? I will definately have to do this with some of my stencils, love love love it!
