Hitting the Road

I'm getting ready to hit the road and head to Louisville Kentucky for the Preston Art's Expo this weekend.  It's a really amazing couple of days full of workshops and demonstrations.  If you live in the area you should stop by and check it out.  I'll be demoing on Friday and teaching a class on Sunday.

While I'm town I'm going to do a couple of talks at the University.  One of the classes I'm going to be speaking about rendering to is a fashion class. I got so excited thinking about it last night I drew up this little sketch to put into my presentation and I thought I'd share it.
The drawing style for fashion is a bit different than my usual fare, but I really enjoyed this.   Here is the drawing in the second step with a little BV000

I then went in with a little V25 for the folds and to give it some shape.  I added some RV for the sash for a little pop.
Lastly I added some texture and RV to the skirt.  I really like how it looks when you lay a different color down and then blend over it with your original.  It's not a smooth blend, but it looks like they go together.

That's it for me today.  I will see everyone when I get back from Louisville.  If you live in the area, be sure to stop by Prestons and say hi!
