Line Art AKA: What I do in Meetings

I had a meeting today--it always amuses me to see art faculty in meetings, because EVERYONE is drawing.  Well, except for the department head...but someone has to lead the meeting while the rest of us draw.   I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.

I'd just watched the movie "Sucker-Punch" this weekend and really loved the character of Rocket.  Of course this is a really loose interpretation since she didn't have a cyborg arm.  But I felt like drawing something cyborg-ish.

In any event here she is:
I actually drew her arm out pointing like that as kind of a joke.  There's a faculty member who is always gesturing like that.  It's so dramatic.  I'd do it myself, but I don't have the gravitas to pull it off.  But she inspired the gesture, so never let it be said the meetings aren't productive.  It's a good lesson: you never know where inspiration will come from, so keep your eyes open.  Even when there's someone droning on about budgets.

I did a rough out at the meeting and then scanned it in and did the trace in Sketchbook Pro, using the Copic expansion pack.

You're more than welcome to download her for coloring.  Have a good Tuesday everyone.
